Cavtat is a city on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, southeast of Dubrovnik. It is known for its beaches and numerous ancient Illyrian necropolises scattered around the area. Near the tree-lined port of Cavtat is the Duke’s Palace, a Renaissance villa that houses the manuscript collection of scientist Baltazar Bogišić from the 19th century.
