Forest vegetation reserve only 10 minutes from Dubrovnik. According to the legend, Richard I the Lionheart found salvation on Lokrum from a shipwreck, returning in 1192 from the crusade from Palestine. He vowed that if he was saved, he would build a church at the place of salvation, but at the request of the people of Dubrovnik, he agreed that the church should be built in the city itself. Today, Lokrum is a protected nature park. A special attraction in Lokrum is a small lake called the “Dead Sea”.
